Most of the patients are afraid of oral surgery. However oral surgery sometimes is the only possibility to eliminate infections or diseases referring to teeth, gums or jawbone. The experienced oral surgeons at the dental practice Dr. Fichna & Kollegen in Ansbach are concerned of conservative treatments.
In our dental practice patients have the choice of local anesthesia, sedation or general anesthesia. General anesthesia is recommended for critical patients with severe illnesses or dental treatment phobia. However general anesthesia or sedation is not covered by medicare (health insurance) at all the times, leaving the costs for the patient him-/herself.
Coverage by the Tricare Dental Program is only indicated in special cases.
In Germany we have special indications for patients who cannot be treated in local anesthesia.
The first step in oral surgery in oral surgery treatment is a consultation, patients should bring existing x-rays for this appointment. After surgical elucidation and you informed consent we will schedule an appointment for surgery.
On the day of surgery you should bring someone with you, because you are not allowed to drive afterwards to the anesthesia.
After the treatment you will get advice for the conduct after oral surgery and an information leaflet on which you will find an emergency number, so you can contact us even beyond opening hours if needed.
